Tunes/Alien Entertainment Records is full of surprises these days!
After their previous Ragga/Dancehall-infused releases "Full Speed Ahead" and "Shoot 2 Kill" alongside UK's finest lyricists Black Canvas, they return a lot different from what we heard before.
One of the most promising vocalists these days, Tania Saedi a.k.a. SistaSadie
(known from UKO, Markus Kienzl, ...), who recently backed up Austrian
Chartbreaker ANNA F (for Lenny Kravitz European Tour support 2009),
combined her songwriting and vocal art with the versatile production
skills of renowned Austrian producers Soumez and El Coca, better known to most as Alien Entertainment.
The result are 2 magnificent tunes, Sexappeal and Don't Underestimate My Love. The release also comes with 2 remixes of SEXAPPEAL, one by cutting-edge Dubstep-Producers Lowa and one by Just Banks of Etage Noir Recordings fame, who took the piece direction house.
1 Sexappeal
Backed by a heavy electro-acoustic instrumental, Tania poses the question: "Who can be real?", unmasking the everyday disguise we all apply to make ourselves look better. Live instruments emphasize this real life issue that finds its expression in a nostalgic trip hop song.
2 Don't Underestimate My Love
The title of this one speaks for itself. Tania tells us, that love isn't always easy to express,
eventhough it's true and heartfelt. This lyrical résumée grows stronger
with every observation she shares with us and by the end of the song
there is no doubt about her feelings. Combined with an extremely catchy
instrumental this top notch production shall not fear any comparison
with the upperclass of contemporary and past R'n'B-Compositions.
3 Sexappeal (LOWA Remix)
No one less than former G-Stone-, Simple-, Klein- and Stereo Deluxe releasing artist Uwe Walkner teamed up with austrian Hip-Hop production legend Dokta G.C. to form Lowa, the production outfit in which they share their passion for Dubstep with us. If you associate Dubstep with heavy wobbler basslines and steppin' halftime grooves
you won't be dissapointed with this superior remix. What adds up to it
though is the extra twist that lets this Remix stand out from many
previously heard productions in this genre: Compository diversity and melodic variety. Designed to please you on your headphones as well as to do damage to the dancefloor!
4 Sexappeal (JUST BANKS Remix)
Having remixed acts like Funkanomics and Louie Austen
before, Just Banks the next Artist to fully meet up to the philosophy
of Wellness Tunes: No genre! He produces Hip-Hop as well as House, Nu
Skool Breaks, Soul and Downbeat and has released on imprints like RocStar Records and Etage Noir before. His Remix of SEXAPPEAL takes the tune into a totally different direction, taking us to the dancefloor where a heavyweight percussive house mix takes out all severity of the original and reminds us that criticism doesn't need to prevent us from having a good time.
